Marilyn Rundquist Obituary

RUNDQUIST,
Marilyn Marie
(Age 57)

Passed away on Wednesday, April 27 at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena, MT, following a courageous five year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Vancouver, WA on April 25, 1954, and she grew up in Spokane. For the past twelve years she lived in Helena, MT, where she worked as a tour guide at the Montana State Capitol. Her parents, Doris and Dale Swanson, were longtime residents of Spokane and Hayden Lake, ID, where Marilyn has many beloved friends and relatives. She is survived by her husband John; her children Eric and Sunny; her brother Robert Swanson of Spokane; and her sister Nancy Jochem of Bozeman, MT. Marilyn was an enthusiast for literature and history, and she was passionate about nature. She was an outspoken person with a strong sense of humor, and her voice and laughter will be deeply missed by everyone she left behind. Her family is holding a memorial gathering in celebration of her life at her house on 1680 Virginia Dale Street, Helena, MT. The event will be an open house, with food and drinks provided, from 12:00 to 4:00 on Sunday, May 1. All Marilyn's friends and acquaintances are welcome to come and go any time during those hours, to pay their respects to her family, share stories and celebrate her memory. In Marilyn's honor, charitable donations can be made to the Nature Conservancy, in order to help preserve the natural environment that she loved. Donations can be made online at http://my.nature.org/donate/. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.aswfuneralhome.com.

Marilyn was a such a wonderful woman. I really enjoyed being with her while she lived here in Ridgefield. She had such a positive outlook on life. I kept up with how she was doing through Barb Holdt. I am glad to have known her!
