Marjorie J.

A life well lived.

Marjorie came into this world November 22, 1933, the daughter of Henry and Marion Becker. Marge went home to be with the angels June 8, 2018.

Marjorie was married to the love of her life, James Gady on October 12, 1956. They were high school sweethearts who made a lifetime commitment to each other complete with a wonderful life and family.

Marjorie was the co-valedictorian of the Mead High School Class of '51 and received a scholarship to Kelsey Baird Secretarial School. She used this as an opportunity to work for the Social Security Department. This allowed her to get a "PHT" Degree and she often said "PHT" was "Put Husband Through College."

Marjorie was widowed after 55 years of marriage to Jim, and continued to wear her wedding ring after his passing. She often said she was still married, they are just separated. Now they are together, and for that we rejoice.

Marge is survived by Sandy (Noel), Renton, Phil (Heather), granddaughter, Stephanie and grandson, Geoffrey, Spokane, and Steve (Martha), granddaughter, Sarah.

Marge and Jim enjoyed several trips to Maui and the Hawaiian Islands. She was truly devoted to her family and loved spending time having gatherings at her home during the holidays. She enjoyed the festive Christmas decorations Jim would put up every year and the evenings spent sitting outside in the summer with her family. One Thanksgiving she actually had a Tom Turkey that weighed 43 pounds in the roaster.

Marge spent many hours attending band concerts and sporting events that involved her children and grandchildren. She often commented some of her best times were spending summer nights at the ballpark watching Sandy play softball, enjoying the company of the other mothers, many becoming lifelong friends. An avid fan of Gonzaga Basketball and Seattle Seahawks, she would follow both teams through the season.

The lifelong commitment she made to her husband is to be honored. The dedication to her family, legendary. Jim and Marge fell in love with Halfmoon Prairie from the moment they saw it, making it their lifelong home. They were always willing to help out neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation be made to Spokane Guild School in her memory.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Brookdale North for the care, love, and respect they provided for our Mother in her final days. You made a very difficult choice into an expression of compassion. Thank You.
