Mike was more like a brother to us than any "blood" brother could ever be. Corey and Mike became absolute true best friends almost immediately upon meeting. Its almost funny that they say opposites attract because Mike's fiance` Vicki and Corey have similar types of humor and while they constantly picked on each other and play fought Susie and Mike just sat back quietly laughing and wondering how we managed to be such a mirror image couple. Which was truly a WONDERFUL thing.
Mike loved his kids very much. He was very proud of them and extremely happy about the new grand-baby.
His two favorite women in his life were his mama and his fiance, Vicki. He loved both of them more than anything, albeit in different ways. He had a great deal of respect for his mama and took all of her love and advice to heart. At the same time, he had given his heart and soul to Vicki. He had even gone so far as to ask her older brother Rocky for permission to marry her. I had several conversations with Mike recently about their relationship and he without a doubt lived and breathed Vicki. He truly believed they were soul mates and knew that he wanted to grow old and sit in rocking chairs together on the front porch. One of the greatest things about Mike is that he knew exactly what he wanted and was determined enough that very little could EVER get in his way. You could always guarantee that if you needed anything, Mike would go the extra mile to help in any way that he could and NEVER EVER expect ANYTHING in return. We may not have known Mike near as long as a lot of other people he knew, but without a doubt, nowhere are there two couples who became best friends so quickly with so much love between all of us. We both feel like we knew him all of our lives and most definitely loved him as though we have been together all of our lives.
We love and miss you so, so, so, very much, Mike. We WILL see you again, no doubt. REST IN PEACE, BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!
