Michael Noddings Obituary

NODDINGS,
Michael James

Born in Spokane, WA December 23, 1957. Lost his 3 1/2 year valiant fight with cancer on January 31, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Tanya Noddings, his daughter Katrina Pelican (Davin), his son Darrell Noddings (Amanda), granddaughter Olivia, and two brothers Richard and Ron Noddings. He owned and ran Snappy Plumbing and Heating for 10 years. During his 10 years of ownership he made a lot of friends and contributed so much to the Spokane community such as Christmas Joy Foundation for children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses. He was very creative and was always working on his home projects in addition to projects for friends and colleagues. In his spare time he was an avid traveler frequenting the Caribbean and other tropical destinations. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, motorcycling, fishing, boating and his sporty Corvette. Mike had an incredible sense of humor and an incredible gift of making people laugh with his wit and puns. He touched all that he came in contact with and he will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Calvary Chapel Spokane, 511 W. Hastings Rd. at 3:30 P.M. There will be a reception following the Memorial at which time thoughts and memories are welcomed to be shared.

Dear Tanya, Katrina, and D.J.,
As you Know, I have alot of good memories
of Mike. We were always trying to out-do each other by our funny gifts for hollidays, birthdays, etc. Mike came out the winner.I remember when I would talk to Tanya on the phone and you mentioned that you were going on a trip somewhere and , before I got it out of my mouth, I could hear Mike from another room hollering,"tell your Mom she can't come". Oh well, there is another time Mike got me good.
Mike will always be remembered as a truly good, loving and faithful husband, and yes, he did spoil you Rotten. Mike was a good father to my grand children Katrina and D.J. and was a very hard worker in his job and at home.
I feel blessed that Mike was my Son-in law . He will be missed but always in our hearts.
With deep love and affection,
Your fav.
Sonja

Dear Nodding Family,

I was very sad to hear Mike passed away. He was a important part of the Spokane Service Team's list of contractors and was a willing contributor to engage and teach young people his trade. Mike was always upfront and honest and I appreciated the care he took to complete projects on time and with quality workmanship. Many may not know that several non-profit organizations in the Spokane area benefitted from Mike's generosity of labor and talents at no-cost. He will be missed.

I will never forget Mike's goodness and kindness; how funny and yes, even ornery he could be - at the same time - which only endeared him to us all the more. He will be missed terribly. Our precious Mike, my beloved Nephew. We will all carry our special memories of him in our hearts always. Aunt De
