Nancy Newbury Obituary


NEWBURY, Nancy L.
(Age 65)

Passed away May 17, 2011 at her home in Spokane Valley, WA. She was born September 20, 1945 in Colville, WA to William and Mary Marchand. She married Alan Newbury on May 10, 1967 in Portland, OR and they raised their three daughters in the Kettle Falls area. Nancy was an amazing and gifted caregiver, most recently employed and retired from the Sisters of Providence Convent. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988 and for the past 20 years has made her home in Spokane Valley. During her battle with cancer she showed strength and faith. Nancy was a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes and was active in the Kateri Ministry Northwest. She is survived by her daughters; Shawn Ashton-Welch, Vancouver, WA, Victoria Newbury, Spokane, WA, Tara Newbury, Spokane Valley, WA; a brother Joe Marchand and sister Alma Regina MacClain, both of Omak, WA; seven grandchildren, Justine and Kathryn Ashton, Gabriel and Jeremy Welch, Chelsea Brisbois, Alex and Linzi Sandlin; her lifelong dear friend Carmelita Adkins. Preceded in death by John and Eddie Marchand. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, May 20, 2011 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church 330 E. Boone Ave, Spokane, WA. Interment to follow at Pia Mission Cemetery, Kettle Falls, WA.

Dear Family,
We wish to convey our deepest sympathy in the passing of Nancy, however we rejoice that the lord has warmly received her. We spent many years of sharing time together at Cursillos, Pligrimages and other celebrations. We will always be honored to have known her. We loved her sweet smile and warm heart in all she did and said in helping others.
