I remember Coach Scarpelli as our baseball coach at Shadle Park during summer league baseball. I played three or four summers for Coach and valued both the baseball and life lessons he taught me. He was one of the most important mentors of my life.
I remember the last time I saw him. He was refereeing a high school football game and I dropped a pass during warmups so he gave me a little coaching lesson right on the spot. That was in October 1961...fifty years ago! I will never forget him...a truly great person.
My sincere condolences to the family.

To the Scarpelli Family: Spokane has lost a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, a little over a year since I lost my father. I remember Mr. Scarpelli as a quality person who stressed doing your best and doing the right thing and would gladly help you learn both. May he rest in the light of Christ.
Best,
Tom Carroll

To the Scarpelli Family;
Nick and my Father attended G-prep together and many times growing up did I hear the story of the NC game that won the city championship. Nick will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of this wonderful man. My grandfather Pat Sullivan was a friend, he used to tell us stories of how Mr. Scarpelli would go above and beyond for anyone he knew, especially when it came to their education.
On behalf of the prep community and any parent who has ever recieved fair share, I thank you Mr. Scarpelli. Not only have you sacrificed your time and money to help this fine school, you did it with class.
I have no doubt that when you meet the Lord at the pearly gates, he has a special classroom awaiting you!!! Give my love to my grandfather, the two of you have a lot to catch up on.
Amen!!
