Norine Kent Obituary

KENT, Norine
(Parry) (Age 77)

She entered peacefully into rest February 23, 2011 at her home in Spokane, WA, surrounded in love by her family. Norine was born in Malad, Idaho on October 13, 1933 and graduated from Malad High School with the class of '51. She married James N. Kent on Dec. 1, 1951 in Malad. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. James and Norine started their life together in Ogden, Utah. Their life journey led them to Pocatello, Boise, and finally to Spokane where they have lived since 1963. Norine worked for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for 10 years and then worked for the U.S. Attorney's Office until she retired as a paralegal in 1994. Norine's family brought her great joy. She was happiest when they were all together, especially during holidays, birthdays, and Sunday gatherings. Her warm spirit and ability to love will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents George K. and Mary Jane Jones Parry; three brothers, George Wesley Parry, Daniel Lamonte (Mont) Parry, and Thomas J. Parry; three sisters and their husbands, Vadis (Hazen) Gilgen, Sara (Keith) Moss, and Ardelle (Earl) Thomas; and brother-in-law Dan Kent. She is survived by her husband James of Spokane; sister Jeanine Kent of Fielding, Utah; sister-in-law Emo Lou Parry of Malad, Idaho; five children, Jim (Jan) Kent, Belton, Texas, Lori (Howard) Kenney, Spokane, Monte (Beverly) Kent, Hillsboro, Oregon, Alan (Debra) Kent, Silverdale, WA and Jolene (Brent) Seedall, Spokane; nine grandchildren, Raymond (Katy), Michael, Karlene, Lindsey (Matthew), Kayla, Nicole (Daniel), Steven, Mark, and Kyle; twin great-granddaughters, Jamie and Chloe; many precious nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Visitation and viewing will be held the evening of Friday, March 4, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 4305 N. DIVISION SPOKANE, WA . Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 2112 W. Francis. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Deseret section. The family sends a sincere heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Spokane and those whose friendship and support were much appreciated during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, 99202. Guestbook at www.riplinger.com

I had the honor to be one of Norine's visitng teachers while I lived in Spokane. She was just the sweetest person to share time with. Her gift of music and love of people was so evident.

My heart goes out to Jim and the family for the temporary seperation we all have to make. May you feel her spirit with you always.
