Orion Dee
(Age 84)

Orion Dee Christiansen, age 84, died peacefully at Colonial Court in Spokane Valley with family by his side at 11:47 pm on December 21, 2017. This date is significant to Dee's family because it is the date his beloved wife "Sandy" Ruth Ann Leighton died 12 years ago.
Dee was born in Downey, Idaho in 1933. He was a paratrooper in the US Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he returned to his family ranch in American Falls, Idaho. He married the love of his life, Sandy, and settled down with his family in Pocatello, Idaho. Dee studied accounting at the University of Idaho in Pocatello and later worked for the USDA as a crop adjuster. He later became the Regional Director in the Northwest with FCIC until his retirement in 1992.
He enjoyed camping with his family, riding dirt bikes and hunting with Sandy, playing cards and dice with his family, grandchildren and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, his mother Ruth Irene Evans, his father Orion Leon Christiansen, and his siblings Lois Jensen, Sherry Criddle, Kay Petersen, and Lyn Christiansen.
He leaves his four children Randal (Sandra), Shane (Suzan), Vance (Linda) and Valerie Christiansen.
Dee has nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2018 in Montana. In lieu of flowers, any memorial contribution can be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation.
