A longtime resident of Spokane, WA was born December 1, 1930 to Oscar and Alice Branting, Spring Valley, Idaho. He went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2011. He served in the US Army from 1947-1951. He enjoyed family and visiting with friends. After retiring from the City of Spokane, he enjoyed working in his yard and tinkering around the house. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Jan; and his children Darin (Lindsay), Larry (Coby), Jason (Holly) Branting, daughter Paula (Doug) Barr and stepson Steven Kramer. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and brother Everett (Eleanor); sisters Wanda Ruppel, Vi McAvoy, and Shirley (Phil) Tenwick all of Northern Idaho. He is preceded in death by siblings Betty, Mary, John and Vernon. A memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline St., Spokane, WA with Pastor Ken Onstot, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a gift "In memory of Raymond Branting" to Northwest Christian Schools Development Dept., 5104 E. Bernhill Rd., Colbert, WA 99005. STRATE FUNERAL HOME, DAVENPORT, WA is caring for the family.
