Richard Albaugh Obituary

ALBAUGH, Richard C. "Dick"

Richard Cletis Albaugh, 81, departed this life on January 19, 2011 in Spokane, WA. Richard, known to most as "Dick", was born on August 21, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, to Raymond Albaugh and Pearl Lee. He was raised by his loving grandparents Henry and Emma Lee. In 1948 he joined the Navy and served our country during the Korean War aboard the USS Boxer. He met and married the love of his life, Carol Maxwell, in 1951. They relocated to Spokane, WA. in 1953 where they raised their three children and one foster child. After serving in the Navy, Richard provided for his family by working in sales for the next 45 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, singing and playing many sports, including baseball, bowling, fishing and golf. Richard is survived by his three children, Ricky Albaugh, Christy Breedlove and Bradley Albaugh; his siblings Bill and Marvin Wilhite and Mary-Lou Hatley; his nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Richard's humor and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Although his death has left a hole in our hearts, we are comforted in knowing he is reunited with his loving wife Carol, who preceded him in death. A private burial will be held at the Moran Cemetery.

I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to know Dick. His kind heart and honest words will always inspire me to be a more true person. I hope that the love Dick shared with us all will be spread through our hearts, helping to improve our relationships with each other, because I know that is what he would want.

I can only hope that the love Dick showed to us all will be spread through our hearts and impact our relationships in a positive way, because I know that is what he would want.
