Robert Enright Obituary

ENRIGHT,
Robert L.
"Bob" (Age 73)

Lost his battle with lung cancer on April 8 in his home at Medical Lake with his family by his side.
He was born on June 7, 1937, in the home of his parents, Dick and Alice Enright, in Deer Park. He attended school in Deer Park and graduated from Deer Park High School in 1955. In 1955, he began his college career at Eastern Washington University while raising a family and graduated in 1966 with a degree in Sociology.
He married in 1958 to Carla (now deceased) and together they had two children. They divorced in 1983 and he remarried to Barbara, who had three daughters.
He also spent time working at Eastern State Hospital at Medical Lake as a hospital attendant, auto driver, watchman, and watchman supervisor while attending college. He was also the union rep for the hospital.
He had a 33-year career in the field of criminal justice. His favorite job was being a parole officer on the streets. He also worked in the Headquarters Office in Olympia and Pine Lodge Corrections Center at Medical Lake as a Correctional Program Manager. He retired from the Department of Corrections in December 1988.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1955-63.
He belonged to the Key Club while in high school and is a member of the Medical Lake Kiwanis Club. He also volunteered for the Espanola/Medical Lake SCOPE for the past five years. He was also involved with the Medical Lake Food Bank, picking up food at Second Harvest and transporting it to the Medical Lake Food Bank.
For many years he was involved in an "Over 40" softball league in Medical Lake. He loved sports, tennis, bowling, baseball and football and enjoyed all his contacts with the "Fantasy Football" guys.
He loved his family and activities with the kids and grandkids and always enjoyed having everyone over to his house during the holidays.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Larry (Teri) Enright; daughter, Linda (Ken) Ross; and stepdaughters, Susan (Randy) Searcy, Lori Walters and Sandra Walters. He had 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Alice Enright; a sister, Margaret Pluid; a niece, Pam Kellogg; and ex-wife, Carla Enright.
Funeral services honoring Mr. Enright will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, in Deer Park at the Open Door Congregational Church with the Rev. Dr. Daniel N. Berg officiating. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer/Kelly Cemetery in Deer Park.
A celebration of his life will be held at Medical Lake at a later date.
Bob's family thanks Dr. Wittenkeller and his staff at Rockwood Cancer Center and Hospice of Spokane for their kindness, compassion and excellent care.
Donations can be made to the Medical Lake Food Bank or Hospice House of Spokane.
LAUER FUNERAL HOME, DEER PARK will be in charge of local arrangements.

It saddens me to learn of Bob's death. Many great memories
of high school, college, USNR, Medical Lake. Seems that we
only saw each other at reunions. We lose contact over the
years, but those times from HS and just beyond, stay with us. He will be missed by all of us in that class of 55.

A sad day to hear of the death of a good life friend...and I didn't know he was sick. It's terrible how separated we become from the people who are important to us. Bummed is how I feel about not visiting him recently. Rest in peace Bob. I have good memories! May God bless your family!
