"Bob" (Age 81)

Bob was born in Spokane to Verdie (Sharp) Brown and Clarence Brown. He began school in the one-room Moran School, and attended Lewis & Clark High School where he played drums in the concert and marching band and met his wife, Doris J Watt. They were married in 1952.
During high school, Bob was active in the Order of DeMolay and later became a counselor. He joined the Marine Corps Reserve as a teenager. Bob's early working career was at Blodgett's Grocery. He was known for his friendly and helpful attitude toward customers and many remember knowing him there as children. He obtained a Business degree at Spokane Falls Community College and opened Bob's Lawn Service and snow plowing, a 30-year occupation. Bob volunteered at North Central COPS Shop for several years, serving as president for a time. In retirement, Bob and Doris enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world. Bob was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, serving in many capacities over the years, including Junior Warden, vestry member, and grounds tender. Bob went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 16th, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Brown. Bob is survived by his wife, Doris, four sons, Richard (Susan), Thomas, David (Kathy), and James; cousin, Uel "Pat" Giese (Jean), as well as grandchildren Monica Cheney (Don), Bryson Brown (Emily), Martin and Kevin Brown, Una Setia (Jatin), Ariel and Schuyler Tilson, Erica Skoken (George),and 5 great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2404 N. Howard St., Spokane, The Rev. Frances Harland and The Rev. Nolan Redman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob's name to North Central C.O.P.S. 630 W. Shannon, Spokane 99205 or St. Andrews Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.

Bob was a wonderful man and always friendly and welcoming. My prayers and condolences go out to the whole family. He will be missed I know by his family and friends.
