(Age 81)

Proud citizen of Spokane Valley, Washington peacefully passed away in the loving arms of his devoted wife Betty A. Perry on Sunday, May 13, 2018 after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Ronald and Betty enjoyed a life of 60 years in marriage together. Married on January 4, 1958. That fall they celebrated the birth of their first-born Ronald Eugene Perry Jr. (Julie). Within the next seven years, they brought four more wonderful children into this world. Linda Louise (Jeff), Scott Eugene (Michelle), James Franklin (Shari), and Elizabeth Ann (Steve). He was also blessed with 16 grandchildren. Dad was born at the homestead on Bagley Mountain near Lincoln, Maine on June 15, 1936. He was the last of eight generations to be born on the crowded property. Dad attended Saint Martin of Tours Catholic High School where he excelled in academics achieving the valedictorian honors for his senior class. Dad was always a huge proponent of education being the key to one's future and he impressed that upon his five children. He served his country as a member of the USMC where he developed a keen sense of patriotism that he carried with him his entire life. He worked as an independent insurance agent. As busy as he was, he never missed an opportunity to attend one of his children's athletic events. He never missed a game. Dad was also extremely devoted to various fraternal organizations including the Freemasons where he achieved the title of Honorable Worshipful Master at Concordia Lodge #249. He was also a member of the Moonshriners of Spokane where he enjoyed many days of enjoyment with his best friend Burt Hawkins. Dad is the oldest of eight children which includes four sisters Beverly, Colleen, Mitzi, and Sharon, and three brothers Jerry, George, and Dale.
Ronald is preceded in his ascension to heaven by his Father (Theodore) and his mother (Louise) as well his younger brother (Dale). He also is preceded by his niece (Michelle), nephew (Troy) and great- nephew (Christopher).
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 19th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 4521 N. Arden Rd., Otis Orchards, WA 99027. Viewing will be from 9am to 10am and the services will begin at 10am. A reception will be immediately following. Burial will be held following the reception at St. Joseph's Cemetery at 17825 E. Trent Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
