Ruth Moen Obituary

MOEN,
Ruth E.
November 15, 1934 -
March 13, 2011

Ruth went to be with the Lord after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born November 15, 1934 in Janesville, Wisconsin. Ruth was the middle daughter of six children, born to Jacob and Laura Vorrath (Emmert). The family moved to Yakima where she graduated from Yakima Senior High School in 1952. Ruth married Ernie Moen in 1953, and together they had four children: Mark, Laura, Chriss and Todd. After living in Seattle for a time, she moved to Spokane where she lived for 46 years. Ruth retired from Associated Credit Service in 2006 after more than 20 years of service.
Ruth loved traveling; she had many adventures throughout the US, Europe, and Central America. She had a passion for sewing and created many beautiful works until her illness prevented her from continuing. Ruth devoted herself to her children, six grandchildren, and one great grand-daughter. Ruth was always happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her children: Mark Moen, Laura McBroom, Chriss Moen, Todd Moen, grandchildren Kyle and Emily McBroom, Tyler and Taylor Moen, Ryan Ridnour, Cory Ann Moen, great granddaughter Renae Moen, sisters Nancy Herrell, Margaret Coffer, Katie Hosman and Barbara Rockne.
Throughout her battle, she was surrounded by the love and support of her family. Ruth's strength, independence, and courage were an inspiration to all that knew her. Services will be private. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals, Cremation and Burial.
