SERVINE , Ruth E.
1918-2012
Ruth Service died October 6, 2012 at Providence St. Joseph Care Center, Spokane. Ruth was born February 27, 1918 to Robert and Ruth (Nelson) Kreitzinger in Yankton, SD. She graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1936. On January 1, 1942, she married Howard Servine at First Lutheran Church in So. Sioux City, Nebraska. Howard died October 21, 1995. Ruth was employed by Iowa Public Service until her retirement in February 1980. Ruth moved to Spokane in 2000 to be near family following an illness.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Robert Charles, her brothers Chris, Mark and Jim, and a sister Norberta.
Survivors include a son Kib (Pattie) Servine, a daughter Mary (Norm) Boehnke; six grandchildren, Rob, Jenn, Becky and Tommy (Jenny) Servine, Paul and Katie Boehnke. Also five great-grandchildren, Jordan and Reece Rosales, McKenna and Kylie Servine and Gabriella Iberg, all of Spokane.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Providence Emilie Court and the staff at St. Joe's for their quality care, respect and compassion.
A Memorial Service will be held this Saturday at 1:00 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 24th and S. Grand Blvd., Spokane, WA .

I remember your family, especially "Swede" and Ruth with great fondness. Your family was so welcoming when we moved in next door on 4th Ave. Place in Sioux City, IA. We hated to see you move to a different neighborhood. I and my wife lived in Sioux City until 2008. My sympathy to the family.
