I was lucky to have known Ryan when he was a student at Salk Middle School in Spokane. He always had a joke for me, a new story and a great smile. In the twenty four years that I have worked at Salk I have met some wonderful kids and Ryan was surely one I have often thought about and remembered.
My most sincere sympathy and thoughts go out to all of Ryan's family and friends.

We are so sorry about Ryan. We so enjoyed him and his up beat attitude. He will really be missed. Have Faith. God will get you through this, just as he helped us get through our son's death. Love you all.

Brilliant Man,your broken heart did not mend, and it may have been for that reason your courage was never-ending. This may also have been the reason why you appeared to live and love like every day was your last. So easily, you treated many with kindness and compassion. My heart is broken today, as you have taken a tiny piece of it with you. . .You had shown me courage, and for those with whom you've come to know, I hope we may have the courage to show-off our broken hearts a bit more so they may be mended.

Good Journeys Sweet Man, and Thank You for Sharing Your Light.

"Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are." - Markus Zusak.

Ryan, you were beautiful in everything you were. There was a light in your eyes that I can't imagine you without. Its been a long week thinking about you and I know now that you will never be forgotten.
To the family of Ryan, you raised one of the most beautifully strong people to have ever walked this earth. Know that he is still with you, watching you and loving you and forever looking up to you for how strong you must be. I hope with all my heart that you can feel the countless prayers for you surround you at this difficult time and for the rest of your life, for the words spoken for you in these prayers will never leave you.
Ryan, you can rest now. Your work is over. This time is yours.

Although I never met Ryan or his family in person..I can see and feel how many lives he touched with his beautiful and caring spirit. I can only hope that he is at peace now. It saddens me that he didn't see all the lives he touched in so many ways, and will continue to do so for many years to come. Many love and blessings to your family.

To my son Ryan:

You were a beautiful, gentle , thoughtful, loving soul...there was a special light that came from you. You have touched so very many lives in the short time with us and were evidently humble enough to not have even noticed.

For whatever reason you felt so alone at that moment in your life, when in truth there were so very many of us who would have done anything to be there for you. I wish more than anything that you'd have just picked up the phone buddy...I would have hopped a shuttle back home, no questions asked.

Thank you for being here with us for the time that you were. Thank you for caring so much about others. Thank you for always making me smile and for always listening to me. You were the best son a mother could ever ask for. I only wish you could have found a way to keep the faith for just a little while longer...we were so close to being there Ryan.

I'm sorry that you had such a hard time over the last few years. I know it was difficult for you to be in Pocatello and I know it was hard to deal with all of the health issues you had. You faced and triumphed over more issues at your young age than many people do in a lifetime.

I will love you forever. You will always be in my heart. You will always be a warrior, to me.
