Stanley Harbert Obituary

HARBERT,
Stanley G.
(Age 76)

Was peacefully wrapped in the arms of the Lord, March 21, 2011.
He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed by his kindness and generosity.
Born in Anderson, S.C. he was a graduate of the Boys High School, Class of 1952.
He served in the military and was stationed at Fairchild A.F.B., where he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest.
Stan worked over 36 years as a Journeyman Pressman for the Spokesman Review, later retiring Jan 1997.
Stan indulged in many hobbies like fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling, but his passion for golf was life-long.
August 6, 1963, he achieved the golfer's ultimate goal by sinking a 197 yard Hole in One on the 17th hole, at Esmeralda Golf Course. He was awarded a trophy and became a lifetime member of the Hole 'n One Club.
He also loved to travel whether cruising through the Alaska Territory, or sailing his boat through the San Juan Islands. Stan enjoyed exploring and seeking out adventures in the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandi, his brother Clyde and sister Mable.
Survived by his loving children Michael Harbert, Cheryl Harbert, Karen Breuer, and his many grandchildren.
He will be truly missed by friends and family, but his memory will continue to live on through us.
In his memory, donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane.

I did not know Mr. Harbert. Just happened to read his column because I "thought" I did. Mr. Harbert sounds like such a delightful person that enjoyed life. I am sure he will be greatly missed. But....look at all the wonderful memories you shared in this tribute and I am sure there must be many more memories that you will reflect upon as the days come and go. Please accept my condolences. May the God of all grace bring comfort and healing to each of you. Evelyn Andrews

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Stan was one of the sweetest, warm, most caring human beings I've ever known. I shall miss him so very much but I also know he is resting in our Lord's glory. God bless your soul Stan!
