Terance Gosline Obituary

GOSLINE,
Terance Basil
"Terry"
(Age 87)

Of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away April 24, 2011 at the Kootenai Medical Center of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. He was born December 14, 1923 at Mizpah, Minnesota; Terry was the son of Thomas and Hazel (LaBrie) Gosline.

Terry attended and graduated from the Northhome High School of Northhome, Minnesota in 1943. He served as a medic in the U.S. Navy during WW II.

Terry married the love of his life, Phyllis Hanson, on August 24, 1951 at Bemidji, Minnesota; they were together nearly fifty years, until Phyllis passed away in August of 2000.

Terry moved west in 1957 to begin his construction career working his way up to crane operator and eventually to superintendent of construction for Hanson Construction of Spokane, Washington, building many of the bridges and over passes through the valley on I-90. Terry later owned his own construction business and Gosline's Mobile Home Park in Pinehurst, Idaho.

Terry was an active member of the community, serving in many organizations such as the Kellogg Rotary Club, the Masonic Lodge and the Good Sams R.V. Club. He also served on the Pinehurst Planning and Zoning and Shoshone County Planning and Zoning Commissions.

Terry loved and enjoyed the outdoors and hunting; he was also a pilot and enjoyed flying.

Terry is survived by one son Thomas (Cindy) Gosline of Pinehurst, Idaho; one daughter Janice (Doug) Higbee of Cataldo, Idaho; five grandsons Terry (Haley) Gosline, Matthew Gosline, Barney Higbee, Jake Higbee and Charlie (C.J.) Higbee; and one great-granddaughter Abigail Gosline; his long time special friend Irma Cleveland of Pinehurst, Idaho; two sisters Rita Wilder of Houston, Texas and Mary Ann Schalin of Great Falls, Montana; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis, and one brother Keith.

Cremation was held and memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Pinehurst, Idaho with Rev. Ken Bartle officiating. There will be a potluck reception at the church following services.

Terry was one of my Dad's best friends and his good hunting partner in the 1950s, when he and Phyllis lived on a hill just south of Northome, MN. When they moved to Idaho in 1957, they gave us their yellow lab, Teal. Terry was a lively, larger-than-life character, and he and Phyllis and my parents stayed in touch until the end; all have now passed away.

Although, I don't remember Terrance, I do see his sister, Mary Ann, who lives in Great Fall, and we have shared memories. I remember Terrance's brother Tom Gosline, as they lived about 5 miles from us. My condolences to Terrance's family.
