Of Southern Pines, North Carolina passed away Wednesday May 25, 2011 at Duke University Hospital of Durham, North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 31, 2011 at 4 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vass, North Carolina. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on June 7, 2011 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane, Washington.

Mr. Horner retired in 2006 after a long successful career as a Crew Chief for Northwest Airlines. In his retirement, he enjoyed sailing, golfing, horses and spending time with friends and family.
Mr. Horner was born in Kirkland, WA in 1948. He was preceded by his father William George Horner of Los Molinos, CA, his mother Ellen Margarett Kvamme of Aniak, Alaska and his wife Carol Dawn Yearout of Spokane, WA.

He is survived by one son, Randy Sean Horner and daughter in law Kara Fay Wiess of Southern Pines, NC; and two brothers, Bill Horner of Boise, Idaho and Leonard Horner of Talkeetna, Alaska.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

The family has entrusted services to Cox Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, of Vass, North Carolina.
