Left the bounds of her earthly home on the arm of her Lord to her Heavenly Reward to meet with her loved ones who preceded her, the morning of April 19, 2011.
Verna was born June 7, 1919 in Golden Valley, North Dakota, the third child of Ida King and Charles "Bert" Wadsworth. Her family moved to Garfield, Washington in 1927 and then to the Moctelme Valley, south of Plummer in 1930. She graduated from Plummer High School in 1938, one of a class of 13 and she was proud to say she had a grade average of 90.
Verna married Ardell W. "Murph" Meredith on September 22, 1939. These lifelong sweethearts loved, lived and worked hard together for 60 years until Murph died January 1, 2000. During their marriage they raised four children: Lynn Brewer, Coeur d'Alene, Steve (Laurie) Meredith, Dalton Gardens, Carol (Lonny) Bowmer, Plummer, Rose Ann (Jim) Grim, Liberty Lake; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Colleen Carmichael, Bismarck, North Dakota; numerous nephews and nieces, all of whom will miss her love, infectious smile, kindness and quiet ways. Verna was a homemaker all of her life; she loved her family, to read, family get-togethers, to go for walks, to listen to the birds sing.
The family extends our most heartfelt thanks to all the loving and caring caregivers and administrators at Coeur d'Alene Homes and Hospice of North Idaho. We request that any contributions or memorials be made to Coeur d'Alene Homes or Hospice of North Idaho. At her request no services will be held. Inurnment will be held at the Latah Cemetery in Latah, Washington at a later date. Please visit Verna's memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com. I have very fond memories of staying with Verna's daugher RoseAnn. Verna was such fun and I still remember her laugh. She was a wonderful woman.
