William Miller Obituary

MILLER,
William David
"Bill" (Age 89)

Bill went to be with his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Bill was one of twelve children born to Fred and Anna Miller. He married Hazel Falkenhagen in 1942 and together they farmed in Fairview, Montana. They
had four children; Bev (Ron) Verbeck, Les (Silvia), Doug (Julie) and Diane (Patrick) Knowles. In 1952 they moved to the Spokane Valley and Bill became involved in the hardware business, working at Peter's Hardware in the Valley and owning Miller's Hardware on the South Hill. Bill was severely disabled for many years, the effect of several strokes. Before experiencing declining health, Bill was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, hunting and traveling with Hazel. They were also very active after retirement with Center Pointe, helping the disabled and elderly with basket weaving. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, his parents, three brothers and two sisters. His survived by his four children, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grand- children, three brothers and three sisters. Bill has looked forward to his Heavenly Home going for a long time, but even more so since losing his beautiful wife Hazel in June of 2010.
Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Center Pointe (1408 N. Washington, Spokane, WA, 99201) or Hospice of Spokane (PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA, 99210-2215). The family extends special thanks to the wonderful caregivers that helped to take care of Bill in his later years and to Hospice House for their compassionate care at the end of his life.

Oh what an example of his faith was Bill all these years. Every time we visited him he always "spoke with his hands" how he will be so happy to be in Heaven with his Lord and Savior and now with his wonderful wife Hazel. They were a delightful pair and you as their family showed such love and concern for them through all the hurdles they encountered. What a celebration in Heaven as now your Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa celebrates his New and Full Life in Heaven.
Our thoughts and love,
Betty & Dick Krumland
