August 22, 1946 ~ March 4, 2011

Bill passed peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, March 4, 2011 after a short illness and complications from pneumonia. He was born August 22, 1946 in Spokane, WA to L. Vincent and Margaret Donahue. Bill graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1964 prior to completing a degree in Political Science at Seattle University and subsequently earning his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University Law School. Bill had a successful career in labor negotiations and was well respected in his field. In 1973 he married Susan K. Schultz and they had three daughters together. In 1985 he married Janice F. Wark where they made their home in the Donahue family house that Bill was raised in. Throughout his life, Bill represented the best in humanity. He was kind, caring, just and an avid Gonzaga basketball fan.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Janice F. Donahue; his three daughters, Jennifer (Shawn) Plichta of Olympia, WA, Sarah (Dewey) Brown of Twenty Nine Palms, CA, Shannon (James) Funnemark of Spokane; stepdaughter, Janna Lynne Oxos of Spokane; grandchildren, Jackson and Landon Plichta, Micah, Elijah and Benjamin Brown, Riley Funnemark, Jakob and Jamie Oxos; sister-in-law Leslie Wark; brother-in-law John (Shannon) Wark; nieces Erin Comite and Jessica Wark; grandnephew John Comite. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael Donahue, mother-in-law Dorothy Wark and brother-in-law Jeffrey Wark.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 10 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a Vigil at 7:00 pm at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division St., Spokane. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 11 at 2:00 pm at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside, Spokane, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N.
