KIYOHIRO, Yuriko Yuriko Kiyohiro passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA on March 13th, 2014. She was born and raised in Sacramento, California. During WWII she was interned in the Japanese Relocation Camps where she was introduced to her beloved husband, Leo Kiyohiro, then of Spokane, WA. She attended and graduated from Ray Vogue dress making school in Chicago. She then moved to Spokane where she married Leo on October 7th, 1945 at the Davenport Hotel. The Kiyohiro's owned and operated a Pharmacy/ Sundries store for more than four decades in downtown Spokane. They were also founding members of the Spokane Buddhist Church on Perry St. Yuriko was a very quiet and soft spoken woman. She had a kind and generous spirit always putting others before her. Her selflessness and humble demeanor were a true inspiration to so many. She is survived by one sister in Japan; a brother and sister-in-law in Japan; a brother-in-law in Illinois; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leo, her beloved mother and father, a sister, and two brothers. A special thank you to Dr. Berdine Bender and Jamie, Sacred Heart Medical Center, the many special caregivers, and to the Spokane Fire Department for the care and compassion shown to her. It is truly appreciated. Memorial services will be held at the Spokane Buddhist Church at 927 S. Perry St. at 10 am, Friday, March 28th, 2014.
