HAYS, Jeanne E. (Age 82) Early in the morning of July 12th, 2014, Jeanne E. Hays finished her journey with us after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Jeanne was born February 17th, 1933 to John Milliron and Julia (Wyburn) Milliron. She attended school at Dartford, graduated from St. Patrick's Grade School and John Rogers High School here in Spokane. Immediately following graduation she attended business school, and worked for Nabisco for a short time before marriage. On September 6th, 1952, Jeanne married Gayle Hays. They welcomed their first child in March of 1956 while stationed at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma. Upon Gayle's discharge, they returned to Spokane, where over the next 10 years they welcomed four more children. In 1969, the family relocated to Libby, Montana where they ran a local glass shop and then a building supply business. Gayle and Jeanne returned to Spokane in 1990, where Jeanne worked at Holy Cross Cemetery until retirement. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle in February of 2009; her sisters: Joan, Judy and Julie; her brother, Mike and his grandson, Nathan. She is survived by her children: Jim (Kim), Cindy, Tim, Denise (Kelly) Kirkpatrick and Wendy (Dick) Thomas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and her brother, Pat Milliron. There will be no public visitation at her request. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Tim Hays Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at Assumption Catholic Church; 3624 West Indian Trail Road, Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jeanne's name to: Assumption Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Church, Colbert, or to a charity supporting victims of Alzheimer's disease.
