MARTIN, Gladys (Age 94) Passed away peacefully at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on August 22, 2014 surroun-ded by family members. She was born January 5, 1920, in Conner, Maine to Hyacinth and Almida Damboise. Gladys was the second eldest child of six girls. She married Larry D. Martin May 19, 1941, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou, Maine. They moved to Connecticut in 1962 then California in 1973. Larry died in 1997 after 55 years of marriage. She moved to Hayden, ID in August 2013. She always had a pleasant disposition, a peacemaker, always ready with hugs and kisses. Very caring and optimistic in her approach to life, with a strong Catholic religious foundation. She will be dearly missed by all. One of her greatest joys was visiting friends, relatives and family. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to grow flowers and vegetables, enjoyed playing cards, and feeding hummingbirds that frequented her home. She enjoyed traveling both to domestic and foreign destinations, visiting several countries. In her later years, she loved working in a convalescent home, caring for the elderly, always giving to others. She is survived by two children: daughter Marlene Bubar of Idaho Falls, ID and son Lenny (Laura) Martin of Delhi, California; four grandchildren: Cathie (Tom) Luckey of Hayden, ID, Vickie (Steve) Travis of Loveland, CO, Ronnie Bubar of Grand Junction, CO, Lloyd Martin Jr., of Connecticut; seven great-grandchildren: Morgan Travis (Christine), Jessi (Sarah) Travis, Trent Bubar, Blake Bubar, Trevor Luckey, Camron Luckey, and Nicole Luckey; sisters: Lillian Martin, Mildred Damboise, Myra Damboise all of CT.
