YOUNG, Frank God took him to his loving home and freed him from his pain, October 13, 2010. Frank was born in Cleveland, Ohio on 03/06/1947. Frank lived in Fallon, NV. from the age of 14 and after graduating from Fallon High School he went on to devote his life to serving his community and country. Frank was employed at the Reno Police Deptartment for over 17 years while simultaneously serving in the Nevada Air National Guard with the 152nd Security Police. Frank and his wife Norma moved to Spokane, WA. in 1988, where he accepted a full time position in the Washington Air National Guard at Fairchild Air force Base as the AGR for the 141st Security Police. Frank retired with anHonorable Discharge in 1998 with over 30 years in the Military. After the Terrorist attacks of 9/11 Frank found himself once again putting his talent in the security business to work for the Department of Homeland Security where Frank was hired in the first wave of "Mobile Screeners" and travelled around the country securing airports until Federal Screeners were trained. Frank was promoted to a manager with the TSA and stationed at SpokaneInternational Airport where he worked for 6 years. In the fall of 2007 Frank was offered the opportunity to work in the Middle East as a Technical Policy Writer for a company contracted to provide security in Baghdad, Iraq. Frank wrote the Aviation Security Policy for the Baghdad Airport. Frank became ill while performing site surveys for the company in Afghanistan and was sent home. So began Frank's battle against cancer. Frank has twice earned the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal. Frank earned The Air Force Commendation Medal and The Air Force Achievement Medal three times each and the Reno Police Dept. Commendation Ribbon for Bravery (twice). Frank also won an award for Most Innovative Prisoner Rehabilitation Program in the year 2000 from the National Association of County Government while he was the Chief Deputy in charge of the Regional Jail in Chelan County, Washington. Also while the Chief Deputy in charge of the Chelan County Regional Jail he received the President's Citation from the Washington State Jail Association. Frank was designated an outstanding performer while he was the Operations Officer with the Reno Senior Squadron of the Nevada Civil Air Patrol. Frank married the love of his life, Norma, 28 years ago in Reno where they met while Frank was employed with Reno PD and Norma was working at the Comstock Hotel Casino. Frank is survived by his wife Norma, his mother Jane Teurman of Sparks, NV., father James Young of Reno, NV., brother Mike Young and his wife Kim of Reno, brother Mitch Young and wife Jenny of Fallon, NV., brother David Young and wife Debbie of Fernley, NV., brother Jimmy Young of San Francisco, CA., Aunt Pat and Uncle John Olivetti ,Cousin Danny Mikael, Cousin Christina Santos, Cousin Patty Brown andUncle Raul Santos and many nieces and nephews who all reside in the Reno/Fallon/Fernley/Carson City area. The family would like to extend a most heartfelt thank you to friends,neighbors and co-workers for their loyal loving support and prayers during this most difficult time. Frank will be greatly missed here on this earth, he was a most devotedhusband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, neighbor and friend. Rest in peace Frank, we love you.
