HENAGER,
Eric Franklin

May 24th, 1987 to
August 6th, 2011

Eric died Saturday morning after a too brief 24 years of life. He was born and raised in Spokane, WA, but moved to Cameron Park, CA for high school. He recently moved back to Washington to live with his mother in Cheney and to pursue a career as an electrician. Eric made friends easily with his quick smile and adventurous spirit and leaves many of us behind to mourn his passing. He was an avid photographer and loved to travel looking for that perfect shot. He had a passion for swimming that started at a young age with competition and morphed into teaching lessons and coaching with Team St. Luke's to pass on the love of the sport to a younger generation. Working with young children meant so much to him. Eric was always putting others first and was quick to help out in any way he could no matter the sacrifices he had to make. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, energy, passion for life, and ability to make others smile. He is survived by his mother, Heather Carling-Smith; father, Bob Henager; brother, Colin DeWitt; sister, Allison DeWitt; and grand- mother Barbara Scrogham . As well as his uncles- Malcolm Carling-Smith, and Bill (Mellony), Steve (Casey), and Dave (Karen) Henager, cousins- Marisa, Megan, Dane, Tom, Barbara, and Kelsey, niece Cecilia, and nephew Walter. He is preceded in death by his grand- parents Bud Scrogham, Alan Carling-Smith, and Bill and Arlene Henager. Memorial contributions may be made to Spokane Area Swimming, 21715 S. Cheney Spangle Rd., Cheney WA 99004 in Eric's memory. Eric touched many lives during his time with us and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday August 12, at CHENEY FUNERAL CHAPEL.
A reception will follow at the family home. Online guestbook at cheneyfuneral.com.
