VAN LEUVEN, K.D. "Van"
Born on September 6, 1933, Van left us on November 18, 2011. He is survived by a loving wife of 48 wonderful years, Patricia Van Leuven; four daugh-ters, Dawn Hammit, Angenette Welk, Gina Smith, and Cari Brotherton; son, Kaye Don Van Leuven, Jr.; half sister, Evon Beech; step sister, Coleen Steward; 11 grandchildren that Van loved dearly; and three great-grandchildren.
Van was a man that had a very big heart filled with so much love and wisdom which he loved to share. He loved the outdoors and driving his boat. Fishing was his favorite, even if it were to watch the faces of the ones he loved catch them. "Get the net, Dad!" He loved reading the many boating, fishing, car and plane magazines, along with completing his word searches. His other love was reading his bible. He loved the farm life and being able to go out and talk to the animals and give them their treats that they loved so much. He also loved tinkering around in his shop, knowing what he made would last forever. Van was a Veteran of the USAF with a great love of planes. He worked for Battelle Northwest in Richland, WA as a Senior Supervisor over Craft Services for almost 20 years. Van will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
