BOYD, Ronald William
Born April 26, 1936 in Butte Montana Passed away peacefully December 19, 2011 at home with his family present. After grad- uating from Pasco High School Ron joined the Air Force and served in Japan. Upon his return he enrolled at WSU where he received his BA and married his wife Joan. His first teaching assignment was teaching electronics in Hilo, Hawaii. He received a teaching fellowship from the University of Hawaii and finished his MA in 1968. During this time he and his wife worked for the Salvation Army. They worked with many children who are still part of their lives. After graduation he went to work for Highline College, Columbia Basin College as a media coordinator (at both colleges) and retired from WSU.
Ron was able to play a big role in the lives of his family, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Joan Dana Boyd, sons David Boyd, Michael Boyd, and daughters Christy Lommers and Norma Pico. His grandchildren included Joshua Boyd, Jordan Boyd, Danny Boyd, Theo Lommers, Max Lommers, Bridgette Boyd and Ronnie Uzetta, and numerous children that refer to him as "Grandpa".
A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St. Annes Catholic Church, 2120 East First Avenue. Memorials may be sent to Providence Adult Day Health, 6018 North Astor 99208 or Hospice of Spokane at 121 South Arthur St., 99202.
