Robert D.

Passed away January 9, 2012, just after midnight at Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he was surrounded by his family. Bob was born on September 3, 1927 in Sandpoint, Idaho. He spent the majority of his adolescent years between Great Falls, Montana, and Spokane, Washington. His father, Arnie, worked to develop a local mine in Idaho and was also an aficionado of the oil business.
As a young man Robert enlisted in the Army and served as a Constabulary in Germany during World War II. Upon his return he met Yvonne Sinclair and they had three beautiful daughters: Diana "Lynn" Alcorn, Cherie Alcorn, and Cindy Paola. He later met and married the love of his life, Mary Blume. Bob was known for taking care of his family, which also included Kalsin Sanders, Sharatin Davis, and Jack and James Stewart. Bob's main motivation was providing for his family, which led him into very successful business endeavors. Bob also has two successful granddaughters, Tracy Paola and Kortney Finocchiaro. Kortney, whom he raised since she was two years old, graduated from Eastern and met and married husband Michel Finocchiaro. They have two girls, Bob's great-granddaughters, Dakota Jean and Gianna Bella Finocchiaro. Bob is also survived by his nephews, Robert "Bobby" Alcorn, whom he was close with, and Mike Graves; and niece Sue Edie.
Bob was an adventure seeker. Among his accomplished ventures he sailed the world. His love of the water nurtured his compulsion to purchase numerous boats over his lifetime to his wife's dismay. He was also a skilled pilot who found peace in the sky with his beloved Red Barron airplane.
In addition to his family, one of the biggest loves was his dogs. Because of his big heart he gravitated towards large Saint Bernards. He will be greatly missed by "Bandit" and "Maxi". His love of all animals led him to feed the fallen apples from his orchard to the deer and other creatures.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, Arnie and Helen Alcorn; sisters, Audrey Tibesar and Joann Graves; and brother, Fred "Fritz" Alcorn.
