(Age 81)

Of Airway Heights, Washington passed away Sunday, October 28th peacefully at Avalon Care Center in Spokane.
Bob was a U.S. Veteran serving in the Marine Corp stationed in Hawthorne, Nevada in the 1950's. He and Angie moved to Airway Heights after completing GI school in Tacoma and fulfilling his first Board Operations job at KWAL in Osburn, Idaho. Bob began his lifelong career at KREM Television as a Broadcast Engineer in 1960 and retired in 1996. Bob was dedicated to his community and unbeknownst to many, served Airway Heights as Justice of the Peace and Fire Chief for the Volunteer Fire Department.
His favorite pastime was the enjoyment of people on the square dance floor. He was a dancer and caller for over 40 years; calling for several clubs in the Spokane area including "Fun 'N Fancy", "Valley Crosstrailers", "Hits & Misses" and the "Square Wheelers" International RV group. He will always be remembered for his entertaining nature and 'clowning' behavior in the Square Dance Community.
He's survived by his two brothers, Maurice of Eastham, Massachusetts and Don of Tewksbury, Massachusetts; his wife, Angie of 60 years, son David and daughter Kathy (Vern) Boggs of Spokane. Grandchildren include Jason, Kevin and Mindy. Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Julia, his two brothers, Ray and Jack and his youngest grandson Tim.
The Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 1st, 10:30am at HENNESSEY SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 2203 N. Division, Spokane.
