HEIDECKER, Douglas Ray Born: June 30, 1949, Coeur d'Alene, ID - raised in Cheney, Washington Passed Away: March 5, 2013, Spokane Valley, Washington Doug followed in his father's footsteps by painting, remodeling, and as a talented woodworker. After graduating from Cheney High School, Doug served in the United States Army. He fought in the Vietnam War. While there, he was injured from a land mine and spent many months in the hospital. He was sent home with an honorable discharge and a purple heart. Doug loved Mustang cars. He owned three and the third one was a yellow 71' Boss 351, his pride and joy! Doug enjoyed fishing, gambling, and being with his family. He was a very caring and loving person. Doug will be forever missed by his family! He is survived by his mother, Annabelle Heidecker; twin brother, Steve Heidecker and brother, David Heidecker and his wife Beverly Heidecker, and his sister, Leslie Hanisch. He is also survived by his three children, Kenneth Heidecker, Kristie Wilson, and Kimberlee Heidecker and her husband Geoff VanDenKooy; his nieces and nephews: Mark and Eric Hanisch, and John and Cassie Heidecker; and his grandchildren, Kelsey Heidecker, Konner and Peyton Wilson, Grant, Gavan, and Graden VanDenKooy! He is preceded in death by his father, Pete Heidecker, brother-in-law, Wolfgang Hanisch, and son-in-law, Anthony Wilson. There is a Memorial Service on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Washington State VA Cemetery, 21702 West Espanola Road.
