Ida JEFFRIES Obituary

JEFFRIES, Ida (Age 95) Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away in Garland Texas on March 11, 2013. She was born on November 22, 1917 in Richardson North Dakota to her parents Valentine and Magdeline Hoerner. Ida married James "Bud" Jeffries on August 19, 1939 in Seattle, Washington and they had three children. The family moved to Spokane, Washington shortly after marrying. After James passed away Ida moved to Garland Texas to live with her daughter in 1994. Ida was a member of the guild at St. Aloysius Catholic Church and volunteered as a den mother for both the cub scouts and the campfire girls. She was very creative and gifted in sewing, crocheting, quilting, ceramics, and making personalized Christmas ornaments for family and friends. She would travel every year to spend time with her grandchildren and loved to teach them how to do many things. She is survived by her children; Jim Jeffries (Guatemala), Pat Jeffries (Katherine) (Fremont, CA), and Gail Merz (Garland, TX), her sister; Claudia Helmer (Tacoma, Washington), her grandchildren; Cory Merz, Kim Jeffries, Christina Jeffries, Nathan Jeffries, Christopher Jeffries, and Mathew Jeffries, her great-grandchildren; Taylor and Madison Trias, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James and 14 brothers and sisters. Memorial Mass will be on April 27th, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church followed by an inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
