Barney STREETER

STREETER, Barney (Age 90) Passed away May 12, 2014 at the Hospice House of Spokane with his two daughters by his side. He is survived by his daughters, Ellney Beem (Dave) and Kim Streeter of Spokane, granddaughter Jamie Hamilton (Mike) of Dalton, GA, and grandson Brandon Streeter Arthur of Tacoma, WA, as well as two great-granddaughters, Kylie Ann and Kensie Marie Hamilton of Dalton, GA. Barney's brother, Stanley Streeter and sister, Celia Ann (Streeter) Replogle, who currently reside in Ritzville, WA. Barney was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Louella. He was born to Ralph and Mary Streeter in Astoria, OR June 10, 1923, and was raised in Ritzville, WA. He was a graduate of the class of 1941 from Ritzville High School. Barney was very proud of his service in WWII with the 6th Infantry in the 1st Armored Division in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He received the Combat Infantrymen's Badge, Silver Star, Bronze Star, and several other medals. He worked for the cities of Quincy, WA and Calhoun, GA. He also worked for Washington Water Power and the Department of Transportation in Ritzville, Washington. Barney was on the Ritzville City Council for several years and was very active with his church and community. Barney was a lifetime member of the following organizations and groups: American Legion Post 51 in Ritzville, WA, VFW Post 5376 in Calhoun, GA, 40/8 Voiture 96 Spokane, 1st Armored Division Association, 6th Infantry Association, Combat Infantrymen's Association, Anzio Beachhead Veterans of WWII. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday May 27, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Zion Philadelphia UCC in Ritzville with Inurnment to follow at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Medical Lake at 2:15 PM.
