Marguerite COMPTON Obituary

COMPTON, Marguerite (Garaicotchea)

August 1, 1930 - January 24, 2017

Passed in peace at the age of 86, Marguerite was born in Chico, California and married her high school sweet heart Donald Compton, in 1948 in Durham, CA. They moved to Washington state in the early 1960's and farmed in both Stanwood and Ephrata before retiring in the Spokane area. Marguerite bore years of physical challenges but never lost her sense of humor and optimistic spirit. She was a beloved friend to many of her caregivers. She credited her French Basque heritage as well as her Catholic faith in giving her the strength to endure life's adversities. Marguerite is survived by her sister Rosalie Cartwright of Phoenix, Arizona, and five children: Marica Gibbons (Michael), Gail Compton, Mark Compton (Ava), Adele Compton Weed (James), Renee Compton (Diana); five grandchildren: Shannon, Justin, Brianne, Noele, Tyler, Devin, and ten great-grandchildren. We love you dear Mother, and thank you for your demonstration of unconditional love and strength.

I remember Marguerite from when we first met in the 1st grade. We went all thru school together until we graduated from high school. Don was a friend of us all. I am so sorry to learn of her passing.

Sweet memories come to mind when I think of cousin Don and Marguerite. Sunday dinners at Aunt Marge and Uncle Harry's Ranch on Clark Rd, 2ND cousin time at holidays, haircut in the closet (!), and always lots of love. God gave her a long life to bring joy to others.♡♡Vikki (Locey)

I would love to hear from you.. just a small visit to catch up.. What a wonderful family!! Incase you don't remember me.. I did your hair while you were in high school, etc. We always enjoyed our visits.. I remember your mom's SMILE as you two complained about "too much curl" or Not enough! ha.. I enjoyed you guys!
