News Death Notice
AMMONS, Sr., Rev. Cecil Robert 82, of Springfield went to be with his Lord and Savior April 6, 2013. He was born January 20, 1931 in Westville, Ohio the son of George Edward and Agnes Lucile (Patsel) Ammons. Rev. Ammons was an Evangelist and had preached at many local churches during his career. He was retired from Navistar and was a member of Local #402. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Christopher D. and Gwendolyn Ammons of Springfield, three grandchildren; Jamie Ammons, Chris Ammons, Jr. and Amy Ammons, one great grandchild; Nicole Ammons. He was preceded in death by his wife; Helen Marie Ammons in 2006, his son Cecil Robert Ammons, Jr., his parents, and an infant brother. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday in the Cornerstone Church of God with Pastor John Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

I am very sorry to hear of Cecil's passing. My brother and I worked with him at I.O.O.F, and I will remember him as a pleasant, soft-spoken man.

Sorry to hear about Cecil. Now he is with Helen again. He was a good and Godly man. He loved the Lord. Use to go visit Frances and Donna Reeves and they really enjoyed and welcomed his visits. They will miss him too.
