News Death Notice
WHITT, Tennyson "Speed" 83, of Springfield, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the McAuley Center after several years of failing health. He was born March 17, 1930 in Wrigley, KY the son of Paris and Ida (Adkins) Whitt. Mr. Whitt was a heavy equipment operator for Kiefer Sand and Gravel for many years and retired from Demmy Construction. He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law Mike Whitt of Urbana, Mark and Nancy Whitt, and Timothy Whitt of Springfield; two brothers and a sister-in-law Bill Whitt of Pitchin, Jerry and Frona Whitt of Springfield; three grandchildren David Whitt of Tampa, FL, Chastity (Matt) Scafone of Centerville, and Bradley Whitt of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Whitt; a granddaughter Patricia Roebuck; brother Edgar Whitt; two sisters Betty Osborne and Juanita Franklin. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM. In the Memorial Home with burial to follow in Enon Cemetery. Tim//Mark/Mike...we've know each other our whole lives practically.....always thought your dad was a good guy. It's always difficult to lose a parent....Tim come see me anytime, although we are not as close as we were years ago, I still consider us "brothers for life". God bless your family

Tim/Mike/Mark....I've known you guys my whole life pretty much. Always thoguht your dad was a good guy, sorry to see him gone. It's hard to lose a parent, not matter what age. Tim, feel free to come see me any time, although we haven't been as close as we used to be, I still consier us "brothers for life!"-
