News Death Notice
STEGNER, Carolyn Elaine 66, of Springfield, died December 31, 2012 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born August 22, 1946 in Jacksonville, FL to Buster and Etta Mae (Sims) Ganas. Carolyn served as an executive secretary with Prudential Life Insurance Company and later with IBM for a number of years and also owned and operated Homeward Journey a resume service business. She also, along with her husband Fred, founded the Springfield Soup Kitchen in Springfield. Carolyn's hobbies included playing the piano, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Frederick Arthur Stegner, Jr.; six children, Alisa White, Springfield, Daniel Sallas, Jacksonville, FL, Cynthia Ann Stegner, Encino, CA, Eric Stegner, Theodore Stegner and Ivan Stegner, Springfield; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Soup Kitchen, c/o 11210 Runkle Rd., St. Paris, OH 43072. Arrangements are being handled by the CONROY FUNERAL HOME

What a wonderful lady and what a privilege to know her. She has earned her place in heaven. How well I remember how kind she was to me as I presented my prayer blanket for her ministry. My friend is now in heaven as well. God Bless You All,
