News Death Notice ACKERMAN, David S. 73, of Springfield, passed away on May 16, 2016. David was born on January 27, 1943 in Springfield, the son of Elden Ackerman and Jessie Bickle Ackerman Aldridge. He had been employed as a Repairman for Navistar for 42 years, was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and UAW 402. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing with family and going to flea markets. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou (Cafeo); two children, Todd (Kim Perry) Ackerman of Lancaster, OH and Lisa (Shawn) Wiederkehr of Springfield; brother-in-law, Jerry Boswell; 11 grandchildren, Brad (Ashlee) Shuman, Tyler (Tiffany) Shuman, Maryah (Doug) Hess, Michael (Haley Bowshier) Ackerman, Nicholas Frock, Shaylynn Ackerman, Kasey Wiederkehr, Samantha Wiederkehr, Alyssa Wiederkehr, Amanda (Chris) Frey and Kelsey (Justin) Whitehead; four great-grandchildren, Ianna Hess, Noah Hess, Aubree Shuman, Bentley Ackerman and baby boy Shuman on the way; niece, Suni Boswell; best friend Roy (Bettie) Murray and his special neighbor, Jim Dunlap. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Jessie; his sister, Geri Boswell and his step-dad Raymond Aldridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday in St. Raphael Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior, starting at 10:00am at church. Burial will be held in St. Bernard Cemetery. Arrangements by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.

News Death Notice ARROWOOD, Rachel Lynn 29 of Springfield passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 in her residence. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on January 3, 1987, the daughter of Lanny and Carolyn Domanek. Rachel was a proud mother and wife. In her spare time she enjoyed singing Karaoke, fishing, cooking out with family and friends, and especially playing corn hole and volleyball. Rachel also enjoyed writing poetry and drawing. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include her husband Rick Arrowood; parents; children Colin, Jasper, Dakota and Sophia Arrowood; sister Roxanne (Michael) Davis II; brother David (Angela) Domanek; mother-in-law Mary (Eric) Kern; father-in-law Rick (Marsha) Arrowood; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of services to honor Rachel at 1:00 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Preacher Jay Yeager officiating. News Death Notice BURNETT, Eugene Paul 93, of South Vienna, passed away on May 15, 2016. Paul was born on November 30, 1922 in Newton, Iowa, the son of William and Ora Bell (Hicks) Burnett. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and spent his days as a local farmer. Survivors include his three children, Sue Hearlihy of Plano, TX, Tom (Sally) Burnett of South Vienna and Judy Burnett of Springfield; one brother, Francis Burnett of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arnnie; his son, Jerry; his sister, Helen Morrow; his brother, Jinks Burnett; his grandson, Laythan Burnett and his son-in-law, Bob Hearlihy. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in New Carlisle Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

News Death Notice CAREY, Jeannette Frances 84, of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2016. She was born October 14, 1931 in Springfield, the daughter of Noah and Lola (McConnehea) Richendollar. Mrs. Carey loved to have family around her all the time. Her hobbies were decorating, gardening and reading. She was a dedicated member of the Home Road Church of Christ in Christian Union and had been employed at ITT Jabsco for 25 years. She was married to Reverend Alfred Carey Jr., September 27, 1947 in Greenup, Kentucky. Together they had six children. Survivors include one daughter; Kathleen (James) Inskeep, four sons; Garry (Frances) Carey, Alfred James (Dianna) Carey, III, Jack (Karen) Carey and Ronald (Lavenna) Carey, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, one sister; Doris Cattell and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years; Rev. Alfred J. Carey Jr., one son; Michael B. Carey, one brother; Donald Richendollar and her parents. Mom loved the Lord and did her best to set a Godly example. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until 1:00PM Tuesday in the Home Road Church of Christ in Christian Union. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM in the church with Rev. Nathan Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Community Mercy Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY- ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME
