News Death Notice WHITE, Jerry R. 78, of Springfield, passed away on December 15, 2014 in the Eaglewood Care Center. He was born on November 13, 1936 in Springfield the son of Hershel and Mary J. (Carey) White. Jerry drove for MMS Trucking for twelve years. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carol White, two daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa and Dan Bortle, and Cheryl and Bill Wilson all of Springfield; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patty in 2011, one brother and one sister. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. News Death Notice WILKE, Woodrow W. 97, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 in Key Largo, FL. He was born December 22, 1916 in Champaign County the son of Rudolph and Lillian (Howard) Wilke. He had worked at Brain Lumber for a number of years and later worked for himself delivering mobile homes. Woody was a member of the High Street Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia & Ray Eubanks, Key Largo, FL; four stepchildren, Ron Holsinger, OH, Brenda & Russ Day, OH, Patti & Dave Beverly, OH and Douglas & Debbie Holsinger, OH; six grandchildren, Traci, Wendy and Steven Sachs and Ray, Jenny and Angie Eubanks; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Eldon Wilke. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Edna, his second wife, Mazie, sister, Gertrude Wilke, brother, Rodger Wilke, half-brother, Larry Cozad, son-in-law, Martin Sachs. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Bill Blain. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

WILSON, Elinor Joanna* - New Carlisle  
News Death Notice WILSON, Elinor Joanna 86, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Friday, December 19, 2014. She was born April 15, 1928 in New Carlisle the daughter of the late Ora & Margarette (Brubaker) Brodbeck. She retired from Tecumseh School cafeteria and was a member of The Bridge Community Church. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed ceramics and delighted in making gifts for friends and family. She will be remembered by her strength and sense of humor. She is survived by two sons, Michael & Virginia (Brubaker) Wilson, Dennis & Susie (Aaron) Wilson; grandchildren, Renee Wilson, Jeannie Castle, Tess Jackson, Melissa Wilson, Lydia Wilson Schmigotzki, Christopher Wilson, Sarah (Jackson) Dickes, Dale Wilson, April Wilson & Lori Wilson; twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn & Bob Suydam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Wilson; a son, Doug Wilson; grandson, Jesse Wilson; two brothers, Keith & Donald Brodbeck. The family would like to thank DayView Care Center for the professional and compassionate care she received. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. News Death Notice YOUNG, Jr., Richard A. 73, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his residence on December 16, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born August 2, 1941 in Lima, Ohio a son of Richard A. and Mary (Johnson) Young Sr. Mr. Young honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Navistar International. He was a devoted member of the Central Chapel A.M.E. Church where he was active in many church offices and organizations. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years, Karen Newby Young; two sons, Richard A. Young III and Rodney A. (Mandie) Young; a daughter, Kellie Warden; one brother, Todd (Debra) Young; one sister, Margie Carr; an aunt, Margie Johnson, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and dear friends. Visitation for Mr. Young will be Monday from 10 a.m until the time of service at 12 noon in Central Chapel A.M.E. Church, Yellow Springs, OH. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Funeral arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.

ZOOK, Nancy Louise (Lannert)* - Springfield  
News Death Notice ZOOK (Lannert), Nancy Louise Age 82, of Springfield, OH passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 in Hearth and Home of Urbana. Born on December 9, 1932 in Springfield, Ohio, "Lou" was a daughter of the late Benhart and Francis (Dewitt) Lannert. She was a 1950 graduate of Springfield High School and a 1954 graduate of Muskingum College. After graduation she became an English and Dramatics teacher at Springfield High School under Charlie Fox. She married John "Jack" Zook on June 15, 1957 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Together they raised two sons, John "Erik" Zook and Daniel Lannert Zook, both of Springfield. She is also survived by grandsons Jordon Anthony Zook, Jesse Anthony Zook, a niece, Pam and two nephews, Tim and Ben. In addition to her parents, a sister, Ann Gootee, preceded her. Lou traveled with her husband during his Air Force career and taught school in Austin, TX, Tokyo, Japan, and Omaha, Nebraska. She was always popular and entertaining. After she and Jack settled back in Springfield she became an English teacher at Springfield North and Springfield South High Schools. She formerly attended the United Presbyterian Church in Springfield. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. with a memorial funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio with Pastor Dave Kepple of the St. Paris United Methodist Church presiding.
