News Death Notice

MCCARLEY, A. Lillian [Quick] 98, of Beavercreek, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 04, 2014 in the Liberty Nursing Care Center of Beavercreek. She was born on August 21, 1915 in Clark County, the daughter of the late Clyde and Kathryn (Ackerman) Quick. She was a longtime member of the Emery Chapel United Methodist Church and served as the Clerk/Treasurer for the Springfield Township School District (now Clark Shawnee). Lillian was also involved with the Homemakers of Clark County for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and traveling around the world. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Thurl W. "Mac" McCarley in 1998. She is survived by her daughters, Julianne LaPolt and her friend Charles W. Kimerline, and Janet M. and her husband Jerry W. McCluer all of Beavercreek; five grandchildren and their spouses: Anita M. and Michael K. Gallagher, Thomas B. and Dena L. LaPolt, Scott A. and Deana L. LaPolt, Kevin W. and Lisa M. McCluer, and Kathryn G. and Joseph A. Banks; ten great grandchildren: Sean, Kyle, Devin, Noah, Anna , Nicholas, Alexander, Andrew, Kaleb, and Joshua; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Loretta M. Bauser, and brother, James Lee Quick. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 4-6:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where a celebration of her life will be held following visitation at 6:00 p.m. Burial of her urn will be held on Saturday in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
