News Death Notice

JOHNSON, Charles B. 71, of Springfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born to the late John and Eulah Johnson on June 9, 1942 in Clark County, Ohio. Charles was a 1961 graduate of Northeastern High School. He married his high school sweetheart Joann Goff on June 2, 1962. They were married over 51 years. Charles excelled in all of his business ventures. He successfully owned and operated the Sugar Grove Marathon Station and Johnson's Gulf. He later ran the Avis Rent a Car, Dayton, Ohio Branch with his wife. He was a family man who proudly attended every sporting event his children ever participated in. He will be greatly missed. Charles was a member of Emmanuel's Promise Church. He was a born again Christian who loved Jesus and shared his testimony freely. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Joann; 5 siblings, Oleda, Vileen, Bonnie, Sue and Wayne; 5 sons, Timothy, Jeffery, Charles, Joseph and Jonathon. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Friends may visit with family from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER where funeral services will be held at 10a.m. on Monday morning with Pastor Wally Mason officiating. Burial immediately following at Ferncliff Cemetery. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8.
