News Death Notice

HOUSEHOLDER, Charles "Chuck" Edward 77, of Springfield passed away Saturday, May 25, 2014 in Eaglewood Care Center. He was born on August 3, 1935 in Xenia, Ohio, the son of the late Charles C. and Virgle (Marsh) Householder. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served our country proudly during the Korean War. He retired from Navistar with 30 plus years of service and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Junior will be sadly missed by his beloved family and friends. Survivors include his two daughters, Kelly Sowards of Springfield and Brenda (Mark) Burson of Urbana; one sister, Katherine Miller of Springfield; three grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Sowards, Tiffany Sowards, Cheyann (Craig) Conley; two great-grandsons, Tristin Sowards and Carson Conley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Beatrice Householder and his second wife, Patti L. Householder. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Merrill H. Mellott Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
