News Death Notice

HOKE, Dorothy Ann (Fitzgerald) 86, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the home of her daughter. She was born on May 30, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of William and Clara (McCoy) Fitzgerald. She graduated from St. Mary's School in 1940 and Wilbur Wright High School in 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Marley Hoke in 1997. Dorothy and Albert owned and operated Hoke Boarding Kennel for over twenty-five years. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church for fifteen years. She was also a member of the Ladies Town Club for over thirty years, and volunteered with the German Township Board of Elections for over twenty years. Dorothy is survived by four children and their spouses: Cheryl Ann Hoke of Denton, Texas; Barry Lynn Hoke of Springfield, Shannon Gail and Douglas Harshman of Springfield, and Bruce Hoke of Springfield; four grandchildren and their spouses: Jason and Jackie Hoke, Chris and Nichole Hoke, Cory and Kelly Martin, and Kristin and Ben Burnside; eleven great grandchildren, one brother, Richard Fitzgerald of Centerville, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bill Fitzgerald. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Teresa Catholic Church. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
