News Death Notice

McWILLIAMS, Gerald W. "Mac" 92, of Springfield passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in his residence. He was born in Urbana, Ohio on August 24, 1920, the son of LeRoy and Mamie McWilliams. Mac was a graduate of the Springfield Business College. He retired as a Parts Manager with the HS Stevenson & Sons Company. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, working in his garden, and loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth (Hall) Berry; and niece Barbara Berry. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lucy F. McWilliams, whom he married Aug. 9, 1958; one daughter and son-in-law Debbie (Tim) Mattern of Springfield; two sons and one daughter-in-law Marlin Tooker of Springfield and Steve (Vickie) Tooker of Elida; nine grandchildren Sheila (Jerry) Mothersole, Todd Tooker, Brian (Misty) Tooker, Randy (Jeri) Tooker, Kevin (Camille) Tooker, Chad Tooker, Jason (Krista) Mattern, Justin Mattern and Jake Mattern; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two nephews Robert Berry and James (Susan) Berry. The family would like to thank Dr. Marvin Narcelles for his exceptional care and the genuine love he shared with Mac and the family; to the Buckeye Home Health Care staff; and to his special nurse Mrs. Jean McGee for her love, exceptional care, and bedside manner. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A service to honor Mac will be Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 1:00PM in the Memorial Home with Pastor David Hill of Northside Baptist Church officiating. Burial to follow in Grape Grove Cemetery.
