Harold M. SNYDER


News Death Notice

SNYDER, Harold M. 91, a lifetime resident of Springfield, died Friday morning, December 20, 2013 at the Ohio Masonic Home. He was born January 26, 1922, the only child of Cletus and Edna (Fisher) Snyder. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1940. Harold joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served during WWII in the South Pacific as a photographer for the Seabees. He was a Mason in good standing with the Grand Lodge F. & A. M. of Ohio and Anthony Lodge #455 for over 60 years. Following his retirement from Frigidaire in 1980, he pursued many activities and hobbies. He was a member of the Shawnee Antique Motor Club, enjoyed antique cars, collecting and repairing pocket watches, woodworking, wintering in Texas, camping, and traveling. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Wolbert) Snyder in January of 1999 and his granddaughter, JoAnna (Williams) Boag in June of 2013. He is survived by his three children, Sandra (James) Williams, Sharon Arthurs and Stephen Snyder, all of Springfield, six grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
