News Death Notice

DOOLEY, Heather A. 44, of Springfield passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She lived every day with an open heart and an irreverent sense of humor. Also a lover of gardening and fishing, Heather was best known for her quick wit and enduring zest for life. She devoted her life to helping others and rescuing animals. We have lost a truly remarkable woman; but she lives on in the countless lives she touched - friends, family, and pets. She was born on June 13, 1968, and graduated from North High School. She is survived by her mother, Betty Dooley; her children Nick and Meghan Rucker, four sisters: Cathy (Tim) Halloran, Meg Dooley, Teresa (Brian) Dooley -Smith, and Melissa (Ron) Page, aunt Marlie Griffin, Darren Rucker, brother-in-law Bill Frye, and nieces and nephews Aaron, Jordan, and Devon Halloran; Jenna McGuire, Alanna Frye, and Carlos and Javier Groover; Noah, Griffin, and Eli Smith and Kody Clark; and Cole and Scottie Page. Special thanks to her devoted friends - the pigeons - Missy (Mike), Tami, Veronica, Maureen (Bill), Chris, and Teri (Dave). She is preceded in death by her grandparents Margaret and Olin Griffin, and her nephew Brennan Halloran. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Animal Welfare League or a . A celebration of Heather's life will be held at Mitchell Hills Golf Club on May 19th from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. Adkins Funeral Home, Enon, is assisting Heather's family with her arrangements.
