News Death Notice
TARLTON, Imogene Rice of Fairborn, 82, a precious Child of God, passed away on April 11, 2014. She was born May 29, 1931 in Sitka, Kentucky to the late William W. and Malta Rice and moved to the Springfield area permanently in 1952. Imogene worked for many years as a head cashier at the Kroger Store on Bechtle Avenue. She later obtained an associate degree in accounting in 1979 from Clark Technical College and worked as an instructor there. She was an active quilter and enjoyed her association to the quilting community greatly. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Donald Tarlton of Springfield, and stepdaughters Sue Cutlip, Bobbi Kaiser, and Joyce Sabin; her sons Ronald L. Castle of Lexington, Massachusetts and Michael D. Castle of Minneapolis, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren (Alexander Castle, Aidan Castle, Tate Sweeney, Isabella Castle, Lillie Evelyne Castle, Brad Conley, Brian Cutlip, Rob Cutlip, Cindy Cutlip, Kristie Larason, Jillian Purtee, Peter Conley, Jake Sabin and Jared Sabin); twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, her first husband Robert C. Castle in 1969, her third son Stephen R. Castle in 1979, and her second husband Rolla P. Billington in 1994. She will be missed by the families of all. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in Enon Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8 pm Tuesday in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon.
