James H. GILMORE


News Death Notice

GILMORE, James H. 81, of Springfield, died Thursday morning, November 21, 2013 in Springfield Manor following several years of failing health. He was born in Springfield on February 13, 1932, the son of the late James C. and Nellie P. (Dennis) Gilmore. Jim served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired as a computer systems analyst from WPAFB and was a member of the Corvair Club. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Foster of Springfield; son, James D. (Amy) Gilmore of Defiance, Ohio; two sisters, Dorothy Pascente and Barbara (Ev) Flinn, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Corinne (Ryan) Brookins, Andrea Foster, Joshua Gilmore, Jordan Noah Green, Taylor Riebel, and Mattea Gilmore; great grandchildren Katelin Brookins and Brenna Flannery; and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Joe Bell of Marion, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta; a daughter, Jennifer Green; a sister, Ann G. Bell; and a brother, Jerry C. Gilmore. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
