News Death Notice

CASTLE, James O. 83, of Enon, died at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Emeritus/Fox Run. Jim was born August 13, 1930 in Paintsville, Kentucky, the son of the late Oakley and Irene (Tackett) Castle. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in January 1986 after 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army in Germany. Jim's survivors include his wife Opal (Grim) Castle whom he married October 21, 1950; three children: Don (Shellie) Castle of Washington Court House, Jeff (Kim) Castle of Springfield, and Melissa (Curt) Studebaker of Springfield; eight grandchildren: Haley, Lucas, Audree (Castle) Long, Megan, Calli, and Amy Studebaker, Seth and Zachary Castle; great-granddaughter, Makayla Kibbe, along with a special cousin, Bonnie Tackett in Paintsville. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Robert, sister Ruby (Castle) Skaggs, and grandson Lucas Castle. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tad Hobert officiating. Burial will follow in the Enon Cemetery.
